I guess since this is my very first deviation, i'll start with a simple hello. So, hello fellow deviants =)

This is my interpretation of a clash between a (reckless?) mounted knight and a number of footmen. Apparently the battle isn't going too well for the "red team", so a brave soul decides to ram the regrouping enemy holding his flag as high as he can. It's hard to say whether it's a suicide mission or an effort to boost morale, but you can almost be certain it's not gonna end well for the horse =(.

My first piece ever with a horse in it, by the way. Normally I suck at drawing horses, but I'm fairly satisfied with this one =)

done in CS5. original resolution 2312 x 3755. a handful of textures from cgtextures.

Really strong image Patrik, the composition is really strong and the poses of the main characters are well executed. The painting is full of motion which helps really illustrate the sense of battle. I really like the armour detailing as well, looks really well lit.

Thank you very much =) Composition was really important to me in this one, I felt it could really make (or break) a small crowded space like this. After I got it the way I wanted, a lot of the other aspects seemed less complicated to incorporate. I still compromise a lot in my drawings, perhaps more than I'd like, but this time I feel like I won =P
